Monalisa Chinda was born on the 13th of September, 1974 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to Ikwerre parents. She is the first born in her family of two sons and four daughters and grew up in Rivers State with her family.
Chinda had her primary education at Army Children’s School GRA before proceeding to the Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls’ School, Elelenwo for her secondary educaiton.
After obtaining her SSCE, she gained admission at the prestigious University of Port Harcourt where she graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts.
Monalisa Chinda’s first step into stardom was in 1996 when she starred in a movie, ‘Pregnant Virgin‘. She however begun her acting career fully in 2000 after graduating from UniPort.
