INEC Declares Akeredolu Winner Of Ondo Governorship Election 2020

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Rotimi Akeredolu as winner of the Ondo state governorship election.Akeredolu, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total of 292,830 votes.

Idowu Olayinka, the returning officer of the election, said Akeredolu met all the conditions required to be declared the winner.“I hereby declare Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the APC winner of the election and he is returned elected,” he said

Eyitayo Jegede, his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, secured 195,791 votes.Agboola Ajayi, candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), placed a distant third with 69,217 votes..

Olayinka said Akeredolu will be presented with his certificate at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital, of return on Tuesday

    I want make Jagaban cry and osho as dey call demselves…
    But be truth be told, it always hard to win ppl with a new candidate dat ppl don’t know b4 but let’s keep our fingers crossed for a better governance cos e said[Akeredolu] dat he won’t reduce education fee…

    But good governance must be d next protest nationwide…

    Nigeria can’t be in d dark for long as d largest black nation in the world…
