Bible text: Hebrews 13:14

“For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.”

The purpose of this message is to remind all believers and followers of Christ Jesus that this world is not their home and that they are citizens of Heaven- the place God has prepared for His own family.

At the very beginning, when God started thinking up Earth, he also started thinking up Heaven. The reason is because He knew that man would not live on the earth forever. By nature and by God’s design, life on earth is temporal, it is going to terminate at some point. Since man was created to last forever, God decided, out of His abundant love, to create a place for His man to continue to live when his life is terminated on earth.

God’s plan for Heaven is such an amazing expression of His love. The Bible tells us that God created the entire universe because He wanted a family that would live with Him forever. God desired fellowship not because He was lonely. He did it because He wanted a medium through which He would express His abundant love. He chose to create human beings in His image, so that He could adopt us into His family, and we could live with Him forever. According to Ephesians 1:5, “[God’s] unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because he wanted to!” (TLB).

The family of God in which we are adopted into is known as the church, the people who have chosen to be part of God’s family in faith and obedience. The only thing in this world that is going to last forever is the church. This is in accordance with 1 Peter 1:4(NLT) which says that, “We have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay”

Beloved of God, to belong to the family of God, you must necessarily give your life to Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord of your life. When you do this and keep on following Him, you are automatically connected to your heavenly inheritance, your eternal home in Heaven. That inheritance can never be taken away from you. It is God’s amazing gift to you. It changes not just where you spend eternity but how you live your life now. The Bible says in Hebrews 13:14, “For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come” (NLT). Once you become part of God’s family, there’s a whole lot more to life than just the here and now.

Therefore, if you are already part of God’s family by your confession, do your best to retain your membership. And if, on the other hand, you are not yet a member, you can choose to become one today as you confess your sins, ask for forgiveness and make Jesus your Lord and personal Savior. He is the only Way to Heaven.

PROPHETIC PRAYER:

I pray for you today:

1. May you not miss eternity in the name of Jesus.
2. Your earthly life shall not in any way rob you of the life beyond
3. All your expectations shall never be cut short.
4. May the Almighty God touch you and give you a new lease of life.
5. Receive the freshness of the heavenly dews

So shall it be in Jesus name. Amen
