TOPIC: Be Hospitable [Open Heaven for Teens 4 November 2022]

MEMORISE: Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 1 Peter 4:9

READ: 1 Peter 4:9-10

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Hebrews 1-13, Jeremiah 38-39

MESSAGE:

To be hospitable means to show love to people, especially guests that come visiting your home. This is one of the vital lessons I learnt quite early in life. Up to now, no one pays me a visit without feeling welcomed nor leaves without a gift. God expects every child of His to be hospitable. In Genesis 18:1-16, God wanted to tell Abraham some things, so He sent three angels and asked them to pass by Abraham’s house. Abraham saw them from afar and invited them into the house, washed their feet and fed\ them. Imagine, Abraham fed angels. He didn’t disappoint God. Can God boldly send an angel your way today with the assurance that you wouldn’t disappoint Him?

You should not only be hospitable to your guests, but also to those who are not as financially blessed as you are. Be good to the less privileged around you. Also, hospitality is not only about giving of material things. Pay people harmless compliments; it can brighten a not-so good day.

ACTION POINT:

Be hospitable to someone through kind words today.

HYMN: Let Others See Jesus In You

While passing through this
world of sin,
And others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.
CHORUS:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it through and through;
Say, does it point them to the skies,
Do others see Jesus in you?
What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you.
Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.
