Janet Sorce is the wife of American radio personality Michael L. Sorce, who is popularly known by his stage name, Don Geronimo. While Michael enjoys the fame that comes with his on-air popularity, his wife, Janet, leads a quieter life, mostly away from the media spotlight.

Michael L. Sorce is a renowned American, on-air personality who has worked in the media industry since age 13. He began his career at the Rockville, Maryland, AM station WINX, and his persistence and skills have served him well throughout his 52-year tenure in the industry. On November 16, 2021, the Don Geronimo Show began broadcasting in the 5:30-10:00 am morning drive-time slot at the suburban Washington DC classic rock station WBIG-FM, an iHeart affiliate in Rockville, MD. This station is located just two miles from where Geronimo first launched his radio career at age 13. However, in July 2023, Geronimo was fired from WBIG-FM after he made sexist comments about a WUSA9 sports reporter.

Janet Sorce Biography
Janet Sorce was born Janet O’Leary on April 16, 1964, into the devout Christian household of James O’Leary and Alice Folwarczny O’Leary, a faith she continues to embrace. She spent her childhood with her siblings, Daniel O’Leary, Tom O’Leary, and Bob O’Leary.
Her father, James A. O’Leary, was a distinguished Catholic U.S. Navy veteran. Born on April 11, 1927, in Portersville, he served in the Pacific during World War II. He passed away on November 8, 2020, at the age of 93. Janet cherishes her father’s memory and his efforts in nurturing their family. Her mother, Alice, passed away in June 2008. Janet tragically lost her only sister, Kristine Elaine (O’Leary) Gaiser, on February 2, 2012. Kristine, who was born from the marriage of Janet’s father, James O’Leary, and Eleanor (Pulman) Cooper, was 48 years old at the time of her passing.
In a touching tribute to her late father, Janet expressed her posthumous wishes for him on Father’s Day in a series of tweets, like the one below.

Janet often updated her Twitter (X) followers about her life until she maintained a more private life. However, during her active period, she would share pictures portraying her daily activities and cherished moments, including vacation trips with her husband to the enchanting Maui Island in Maui County, Hawaii. Currently, she resides with her husband in Sacramento, California.
Janet, a passionate dog lover, was the proud owner of an American Bulldog named Bishop. Bishop became a beloved member of her family on February 4, 2017, but sadly passed away on November 25, 2017. Following Bishop’s passing, Janet welcomed two more American Bulldogs into her home, named Tiger and Theo.

Janet is the second wife of Michael L. Sorce, popularly known by his stage name, Don Geronimo. The couple tied the knot on March 21, 2009, when Janet was almost 45 and Michael was 50.
Don’s first wife, Freda, tragically died in a car accident on Maryland Route 90 near Ocean City, Maryland, on July 10, 2005. Following her untimely death, Don took a hiatus from his show, returning to the air on August 1, 2005, with a solo broadcast.

Janet is a mother to two children, Bart and Amy Sorce. Bart was born from Don’s previous marriage to Freda in 1985. He is now married to a woman named Nicole, and they welcomed a daughter, Arlo June Sorce, on February 15, 2016. Arlo is the beloved granddaughter of Janet and Don Geronimo.

Janet does not have any children with Don Geronimo.

Janet Sorce’s husband, Don Geronimo, born Michael L. Sorce, began his radio career at the tender age of 13, initially working at a local AM station in Maryland. Despite early setbacks, Geronimo’s persistence and talent landed him roles at WLS-FM and WBBM-FM in Chicago during the 1980s.
He married his first wife, Freda Wright-Sorce, in 1981 and had two children with her.
By 1985, he returned to the Washington, D.C. area, hosting at WAVA-FM before moving to WJFK-FM in 1991. Here, he formed a successful partnership with Mike O’Meara on the syndicated “Don and Mike Show,” which ran until Geronimo’s retirement on April 11, 2008. Mike O’Meara continued the show in his absence.

After his initial retirement, Geronimo returned to the industry several times, navigating periods of success and turmoil. He expressed discontent with the direction of radio broadcasting after high-profile incidents such as the Janet Jackson Super Bowl event. Despite these challenges, he maintained a significant presence in the industry, eventually hosting a show on 1140 The Fan 1140 KHTK (AM), Sacramento.
Geronimo’s versatile career also saw him appear on Good Day Sacramento’s TV show and serve as Program Director for KHTK. Despite numerous time slots and station changes, he remained popular on air. However, his career faced a significant setback in July 2023 when he was fired from WBIG for making derogatory comments about a female reporter.
