Belize is an excellent choice if you want to combine enjoying golden beaches with trekking Mayan ruins and hiking through caves. You can stay at Belize city hotels for twenty-five dollars a night or prefer cheaper beachside hotels of San Pedro. Cocktails at tiki bars and local seafood will not leave you cold, and prices will be a pleasant surprise.

Wales

If you want to enjoy an England-like landscape but are not willing to pay English prices, go to Wales. Here you can find accommodation in the center of Cardiff for a stunningly low price of eleven dollars. Experienced travelers can succeed in admission-free sightseeing. For hikers, the tours aplenty: Wales Coast Path will take you along the coastline, and the Teifi Estuary route will take you to amazing medieval castles.

Croatia

Croatian coastline is a great choice for someone with a limited budget. If you visit the country from November till March, the national parks’ entry fees will be much lower than during the high season. For example, the entrance fee at the famous Plitviče Lakes National Park will be as little as eight dollars, and the view of the amazing waterfalls will be striking. If you desire to swim in a waterfall, go to Krka National Park. The price is around five dollars (and in summer it can be six times more expensive), and it’s a real bargain. In less than one hour from Dubrovnik is Mali Ston with its waterfront restaurants, offering high-quality oysters.

Spain

There is a great chance of having a wonderful time in the sunny south of Spain with a glass of cold beer and tasty snacks from a local bar. You may be surprised, but the price for this is less than ten euros. If you are into more intellectual entertainment, set off on a self-guided tour, and enjoy the architecture. Or visit admission-free museums and concerts, sponsored by the government. But if you want to immerse into the local culture, go south and stand a chance to witness some of the best dancers, musicians, and singers perform in front of the guests of local bars.

Indonesia

One of the best tourist attractions of Indonesia, the island of Bali, has a lot to offer to a thrifty traveler. Here, it is easy to find a hostel for less than ten dollars a night. Try to avoid destinations popular among tourists. It is better to travel north to Ubud, where the prices are even more pleasant, and restaurants and boutiques are numerous. Another way to save some money in Ubud is to go shopping in the market early in the morning while the locals go. You will not be disappointed with the prices.

Morocco

In Marrakech, you can find hostels for three to six dollars a night. And if you are into something fancier, a night in a riad with breakfast included will be less than forty dollars for two. Meals and entrance fees to all sorts of attractions are under ten dollars, while a day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls is just thirty dollars. Shopping in Morocco is another great thing: at souks, or local markets, you will find great offers.

Costa Rica

The main thing anyone should keep in mind while in Costa Rica is the necessity to avoid expensive popular tourist attractions. Fortunately, it is not that difficult, as there are two incredibly beautiful coastlines there, both of which are worth exploring. Hikes are mostly free, and entrance to waterfalls is usually less than ten dollars. Want to enjoy a lazy pastime? Then lounge at the Tabacon River. Or rent a surfboard in Tamarindo for ten dollars and then enjoy beach karaoke with free shots for every song you sing.

A great thing about traveling to Prague is that you can go across it on foot and enjoy its amazing architecture and atmosphere of a fairytale. Especially satisfying is the fact that most sights of Prague are free. The famous Lennon Wall, covered with graffiti, stroll across the Charles Bridge, witness the 600-year-old Astronomical Clock strike a new hour in Old Town Square, and take pleasure in observing the busy city from the top of Petrin Hill.
