The Star Disc Jockey with real name, Willie Perry Jnr. is a producer and musician who hit a significant milestone with his hit track, ‘Cha Cha Slide’.  The successful songwriter and disc jockey was 58 years before he died.

Background
He was born on May 31, 1971, to Delores Wright and Perry Vedder in Englewood, Chicago, Illinois, USA. The star had his early education Kennedy-King College and then went to Calumet High School from 1977 to 1979.
His Career Journey
His first hit record ‘Casper Slide Pt.1’ also known as ‘Cha Cha Slide’ was created for his nephew, who worked in 1988 as a personal trainer for Bally Total Fitness. 
When the hit track drew attention from all corners of the world, he released another in the year 2000, titled ‘Casper Slide Pt.2’ which got its first play at Chicago’s radio station by Elroy Smith.
The songs became hits in 2004 in Chicago when the popular M.OB records took an interest and helped Perry create a compilation album with several other Chicago-based artists to promote the dance.
He owned Casper Classic Radio which has been up and running since October 15, 2018. The legend was also an On-Air Personality at the studio.

DJ Casper, the producer of the incredible “Cha-Cha Slide” song, had a beautiful union with Kimberly Bradshaw Casper. They got married on the 16th of September 2020. The pop song master was happily married and blessed with children from his marriage with Kim but prefers privacy to a life of exposure for them.

Did Casper Have Mom and Dad?
Sure! Amelia Harvey, his mother, is one of the posthumous overarching vital characters of the Casper feature film (together with J.T. McFadden) in 1995. However, after nearly completing his machine, his dad McFadden was soon arrested by local authorities and sent to an insane asylum. The date of his death wasn’t known to anyone, but Amelia Harvey did mention him.

Was DJ Casper Sick?
Perry was diagnosed with neuroendocrine and kidney cancer in January 2016. He began chemotherapy after a surgery that wasn’t successful that same month. 
In an interview, he discussed his health issues with ABC7’s Samantha Chatman, saying, ‘I’ve gotten sick of the song a long time ago, but I don’t get sick of people enjoying themselves’. 
His words continued, ‘Anyone who’s going through cancer, just know that you have cancer and cancer does not have you’.

Cause of Death
It is so sad that our famous DJ was diagnosed in 2016, the result was out and it was renal and neuroendocrine cancer. He mentioned to the television station that embarking on surgery was what the doctors had as an option to save Casper’s life. Still, it was hindered when they discovered the kidney connected to his artery. It was resolved that they would treat it in place of the surgery.
After a long battle with cancer, the music lord gave up the ghost on Monday, the 7th of August, 2023. His death was announced by his wife, Kimberly.
For a well-lived life, he was survived by his family, friends and colleagues.
