Arsenal are preparing to honour legendary Arsene Wenger with a statue outside the Emirates Stadium in the near future.

Wenger, who won ten trophies in over two decades in north London, returned to N5 for the first time since leaving his post as Gunners boss on Boxing Day, watching on from the stands as Mikel Arteta’s side came from behind to beat West Ham.

Arguably the most significant figure in Arsenal’s history, there have long been calls for the club to tangibly honour the Frenchman.

And according to the Daily Telegraph, plans are afoot to build a statue outside the Emirates Stadium potentially as soon as 2023.

Arsenal have already erected statues of club legends Herbert Chapman, Tony Adams, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry around the ground, with Wenger now set to follow.
