Popular Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale of House of Phreeda, was rescued on Thursday, August 17 in the evening after attempting to commit suicide on the Third Mainland Bridge.
She arrived at the bridge in her Lexus SUV, came down, and was going to leap into the lagoon when she was saved by those who were present.

Videos posted online show the woman, who was wearing all black, sobbing uncontrollably while being comforted by those who saved her. Sobowale is a well-known businesswoman in Lagos’ beauty industry.

Farida and her man, Demola, held a talk of the town wedding two months ago in Lagos. According to speculation, their marriage has broken up, and this has significantly impacted her mental health.
