Job Title: Marine Procurement Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview


The Marine Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement activities related to our maritime operations.
This includes sourcing and purchasing marine equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the efficient operation of our fleet and marine projects.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the marine industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management:


Develop and implement procurement strategies for marine equipment, supplies, and services.
Source and evaluate suppliers, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.

Compliance and Documentation:


Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.

Supplier Relationship Management:


Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly and professionally.
Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement plans as necessary.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management:


Maintain optimal inventory levels to support marine operations without overstocking.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
Manage logistics and transportation of marine supplies, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Budget and Cost Control:


Prepare and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
Track and report on procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.

Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the marine or oil & gas industries.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
Strong knowledge of marine equipment, supplies, and services.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:


Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
Experience with ERP systems.
Familiarity with international shipping and logistics.
