Pray for Osun as you celebrate Christmas – Speaker, Owoeye

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye has called on the people of the state especially Christians to pray for development, peace and security to continually reign in the state.

This is as he also enjoined the people and adherents of other religions to utilise the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to offer prayers for a Nigeria that is free from violence, kidnapping and insecurity.

‎Owoeye who in a Christmas message made available to DAILY POST by Kunle Alabi his Media Aide, urged Christians in the state to always strive to be role models of Christ who lived and died propagating the message of love, peace and truthful co-existence among mankind, charged them to reflect and rededicate themselves to the teachings and lifestyle of Christ, which were anchored on sacrifice, peace, truth and love.

While seeking prayers from Christians and adherents of other faiths for the success of the 2022 gubernatorial election in the state, the Speaker called on the people to also supplicate for Nigeria to overcome the security challenges in the country.

Quoting from 1 John 4:7, which dwelt on humans loving one another as God also loves humans, he held that Osun had demonstrated in very clear terms the freedom for all to choose their faiths according to their convictions adding that such understanding had assisted in promoting religious harmony in the state.

In his words, “We should at this point put our state in prayers as the state will be going into a process of choosing her Governor next year. We must seek the face of God in ensuring that we have a hitch-free election continually.

“The peace Osun is witnessing under the administration of Governor Oyetola can be associated with the prayers of all religions in the state and the commitment of the government to providing good governance,” he concluded.
