FIFA Celebrates Aribo’s Brilliant Solo Goal Vs Villarreal

Although it was a friendly match used as shape up ahead new season, Joe Aribo’s goal against Villarreal did not fail to attract the attention of World soccer ruling body FIFA.

The Super Eagles midfielder who recently joined Premier league side Southampton from Scottish side Rangers, made a solo run and delivered a superb goal against Compatriot Samuel Chukwueze’s Villarreal on Saturday at Saint Mary’s.

Despite losing the match 2-1 Aribo’s 64th minute equaliser after Villarreal had shot into the leadu, became the talking point in the match which marked the last preseason for the team

The former Rangers star collected the ball in his own half, ran towards Villarreal’s half, beat a couple of markers before planting the ball into the far corner.

And in its reaction, FIFA published a video of the goal, and wrote:”This goal excited @SouthamptonFC fans yesterday.

FIFA were not the only ones tickled by the goal that has been describing in some quarters as Messi-Esque in comparison with some of the moves of Argentina legend and PSG ace lionel Messi while he was with Barcelona. Southampton Coach Ralph

Southampton will kickoff the Premier League campaign away to Tottenham Hotspur August 6th.  Aribo made 92 appearances for Rangers with 18 goals to his credit.
