The WWE Performance Center released a video on their YouTube Channel (view above) revealing Brian Kendrick has retired as an in-ring performer and has been working as a Producer for 205 Live.
Kendrick, 41, moved from the Pacific Northwest in 1999 to Texas and began training at the NWA Southwest Wrestling School, and then later attended the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy.
In February 2000, Kendrick signed a developmental deal with WWE and spent a year in the company’s then farm territory Memphis Championship Wrestling where he wrestled under the name of Spanky. After MCW closed down, he then moved to Ring of Honor where he spent a year before singing a new contract with the WWE where he stayed until 2004 for Pro Wrestling Zero1 in Japan.
During his time in Zero1, Kendrick made appearances for several independent promotions, including TNA Wrestling. He made his return to ROH in 2004, before making another to WWE in 2005 where he would appear until he was released from his contract on July 30, 2009.
Following his release from WWE, he made various appearances again on the independent scene from 2009 to 2016, which included ROH,TNA and NJPW.
Kendrick made his return yet again to WWE in 2014 where he spent time on Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and 205 Live. His last match was on the October 30, 2020 episode of 205 where he teamed with Monsoor to defeat Ever-Rise.
