Born on the 27th of October, 1970, Tope Alabi is a Nigerian born gospel singer, songwriter, actress and movie music composer.
She hails from Yewa, Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria and was born into the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi, being the only female of their three children.
Prior to her music career, Tope Alabi worked with the Jesters International comedy group as well as other Lagos and Ibadan based travelling and stage theatre groups.
Her movies were mainly of the Yoruba genre before she dived into the gospel music world, after becoming a born-again Christian.
Talking about her early life and education, Tope Alabi obtained her West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) from the Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan in the year 1986, and proceeded to the Polytechnic Ibadan where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in 1990. She has released a good number of songs and albums.
