The water man
The water man is about a boy named Gunner who wen into a wild forest to look for a magical being who possesses magical powers in other to save his sick mother.

Gunner (Lonnie Chavis) loves his mother (Rosario Dawson) so much and she also did as a mother. She supports him in his dreams and artistic pursuits, while his busy working father, Amos (Oyelowo), with whom Gunner shares a strained relationship, has thought about where his son’s interests should lie. Gunner and his dad decide to gloss over their differences for the sake of the family, but when his mom’s illness got really bad, Gunner disappears into stacks of books on both science and went to look for a supernatural in search of possible cures. When Gunner and his female friend Jo (Amiah Miller) go missing during their quest into the Water Man’s mysterious forest, Amos must immerse himself in his son’s world to hunt out them and put his family back together.
Just a few months after having its world premiere at the International Film Festival,The Water Man has officially been acquired by RLJE Films for North American and Netflix for international release on the 7th of may 2021.
Alongside Oyelowo, the cast for the film includes Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Lonnie Chavis (This is Us), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2, Promising Young Woman) and Maria Bello (NCIS). The movie is produced by Oyelowo, Carla Gardini (Delilah), Shivani Rawat (Wander Darkly) and Monica Levinson (Golden Globe nominees Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Trial of The Chicago 7) and executive produced by Oprah Winfrey (The Color Purple), Darren M. Demetre (Lean on Pete), Connor Flanagan (Wander Darkly) and Needell.
