The #EndSARS protesters have taken their agitation to the next level as they blocked the headquarters of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Abuja to prevent activities at the apex bank today, Monday, October 19.
Recall that Nigerian youths recently commenced the protest by taking to the streets to demand that the country’s leaders disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and reform the nation’s police force.
It was learnt that the protesters on Sunday night, October 18, packed vehicles in front of the main gate of the CBN headquarters, blocking movement in and out of the premises.
According to a Twitter user who refused to disclose his identity,
“Despite the rain that later fell, the resilient protesters continued their protests, chanting solidarity songs.”
According to the reports, the security operatives guarding the building are already at alert in case of any break out of violence.
