Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2

Getting down from my fiancee car, I gazed at the big building.

Adebayo noticed my mood and move closer to me, he throwed his right hand over my shoulder.

“What are you thinking about?”.

“Hmm..I was thinking that since we are coming down here, I should have brought few stuff with me to gift dad and mum or what did you think?” I asked with a mixed expression.

“You worry yourself alot, you will still come here alot of times, this is your first visit here darling”.

“No, it’s not polite this way” I insisted.

“What did you want to do now since we are here?” He asked me.

“Please let’s drive back to the nearest market here”.

“Guess what?” He said

“What!.

“I have gotten everything” he said

“It’s a lie o”

“I am serious, I can’t come to my parents house empty handed”.

“Thank you dear” I replied hugging him.

“I will tell them that you brought everything”

“That’s so nice of you, thanks dear” I replied hugging him back.

We both went to the back of the car and brought out the foodstuff in it along with provision.

Carrying two big sack with both of my hands while bayo carried the remaining sack. We walked down to the small gate below the building and knocked on it.

After knocking for a minute.

A young girl ran out of the building, opening the gate while she hugged his brother.

“I have missed you brother bayo! She exclaimed while he hugged her back.

“I am back now, take this load inside and call your brothers to help you out” he replied withdrawing himself from her.

She glanced through my direction and looked away while bayo called her attention.

“Tife! Don’t you see my visitor?”.

“I thought she is the new housemaid that you promised dad” she replied nonchalantly while I get angry.

“Are you referring to my fiancee that way? Are you normal? If I give you di*rty slap, you will land in the hospital. Mai fweeeend get on your kneel and greet her” bayo ordered while she walked over to my presence.

“Good morning ma” she said immediately and walked inside the house without waiting for reply.

“Don’t mind her dear” bayo assured me while I managed to smile before getting inside the house.

Not long, her brother came out of the house and take the remaining load in after greeting me while bayo held my hand before walking into the big sitting room.

It still had the decorations and arrangement of the olden days.

We met an old man sitted on the chair while listening to a medium size radio.

I dont know how he is to my fiancee but there is one thing my parents taught me.

That is to always respect the elders.

I went on my kneel immediately while Adebayo prostrated.

“Good morning sir” we both chorused.

“Good morning my son, good morning dear” he replied glancing through my side.

Adebayo noticed this and quickly introduced me to him.

“Ehm…this is my wife to be dad, the wife you always insisted on seeing everyday and her name is folakemi” he said gesturing towards me while I smiled.

“This is dad folakemi” he introduced while I went on my kneel again.

“Wow! That’s good, I thought you are joking when you said that you are coming with your wife today. Anyways, your mother has prepared a large feast before your arrival here…. son, it’s been a while that you are back home. It’s either it’s on call or when we visit you. I am glad that you have fulfilled my wish. My wife please have your seat” the old man calmly said while I sit down on one of the chair.

”where is mum dad?”.

“Check inside the kitchen” the old man replied while Adebayo went inside the kitchen to call out his mother.

An average sized woman came out of the kitchen with Adebayo. She is dressed in a black gown with an head net rested on her head. She looked 50.

“That is my wife mum” Adebayo introduced while I went on my kneel to greet the woman.

“Really!.

“Yes mum, she is here as your guest” Adebayo happily replied.

“Have your seat” she said while I sit back.

“Am still cooking the last meal, I will attend to it soon. Let me know about my wife”.

We are all sited while she begin the question

“What’s your name young lady?”.

“My name is Adesokan Folakemi ma”.

“Hmm…Fo..la..ke..mi, you are from which state?”.

“I am from oyo state ma, ibadan precisely”.

“I..ba…dan, how are your parents?”.

“They are both fine ma” I replied.

“What work are you doing? And what work are your parents doing?”. She asked while his husband interfere.

“It’s not up to that question now. We will get to know each other very well. This is just the first visit, she will still come back”.

“Why can’t I ask her the question? If I don’t ask her about what we are supposed to know now, is it when she is now married that I will start asking her question”. The woman interjected.

“Okay oooo, they said that we shouldn’t ask you about your parents occupation. How did you guys meet?”.

“We met during my third year in the university and he is in his final year then, we started our relationship that day and till today, we are still together” I calmly replied.

“Hmm..Are you sure?” The woman asked.

“Yes ma’am” I replied.

“So, that means that my son is the one sponsoring you during your remaining years in the university”.

“Mum! Adebayo interrupted.

“Don’t mum me, we need to know every details of your relationship”.

“Did you want to start a story with it?” The old man interrupted.

“It doesn’t matter, Mai wife jare, the cloth that you put on, can I know the amount?”.

“Mummy bayo, I am hungry, serve us our food” the man interrupted again.

“Is this the time to be hungry? Alright, I will serve everyone” she said before setting the dinning.

I quickly joined in placing the food on the dinning table.

“Before I forgot, mum, Folakemi is the person that brought all those food stuff and provision”. Bayo said.

“Are you sure she is the one? Because she doesn’t look like someone that can get those stuff” she replied without looking up.

I was getting pissed up with his mother attitude towards me. I have just met 2% of his family and things are like this, what if I meet the other members of the family.

I came to their house in good mood hoping to maintain it till the evening not knowing this is what I am going to meet.
