The England international struggled for game time at Man City throughout the winter period due to both a lack of fitness and form – having been hampered with a niggling ankle injury.

Now back fully fit and in the City starting XI, Foden has begun to show the form that made him one of the most exciting young players in Europe in recent seasons.

The creative midfielder scored his first goals since early January this past week, bagging one in the Premier League win over Bournemouth before scoring a brace against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

Speaking to ITV, Foden revealed that he now finally feels ‘100%’ again after a difficult period: “I feel much better with my feet.

“I feel 100% fit now and comfortable. It has been one of the worst parts of my career but everyone goes through them and it is how you react.

“[The issue was] discomfort in my feet and not playing as much. I love to play football and when I don’t I am a bit frustrated.”

The 22-year-old will hope to continue his fine goalscoring form this weekend when City face off against Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.
