Glazer has not watched the club in person since the opening day defeat to Brighton earlier this season – a game which was dominated by lengthy protests from fans towards the Glazer family’s ownership of the club.

Since then, the Glazers have put the club up for sale and the deadline for bids has come and gone, with lucrative offers being submitted to the group handling the deal, Raine.

With all that going on behind the scenes, The Athletic state that Glazer is planning to attend Sunday’s final at Wembley to watch United’s quest to end their six-year wait for a trophy.

Glazer has previously described United’s search for investment as ‘not necessarily a sale’, with the family understood to be considering all options, including potentially remaining at the club.

The proposal submitted by Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani is to take control of 100% of United, which would include further work to obtain the 31% of shares not owned by the Glazer family.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, on the other hand, has offered to buy the Glazers’ 69% stake in the club.

US lender Elliott, former owners of AC Milan, have also offered to provide funding during negotiations but have not joined forces with any party in particular and could even offer financial support to the Glazers to remain at Old Trafford.

Avram and brother Joel, who has the most significant role in running United, have looked at buying the shares of their four siblings, Kevin, Bryan, Edward and Darcie. The quartet are prepared to sell up but the finances involved would be enormous.
