Osun APC caucus demands apology from Oyetola, police over alleged damage on reputation

The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and Olawale Olokode, the Osun Police Commissioner, to tender an unreserved apology for the alleged malicious damage done to the reputation of a factional chairman of the State APC Chairman, Rasaq Salinsile and six other leaders of the party.

The Chairman of the caucus, Adelowo Adebiyi while reacting to the dismissal of the court case instituted against the caucus leaders, stated that it was only an apology tendered publicly through the media that can mitigate the several lies that was concocted and told against them.

Adelowo chided the police for taking sides and turning the victims of the unprovoked attacks into the accused when all indications pointed that they were innocent.

He maintained that the arrest and subsequent arraignment of the seven TOP leaders was a very unfortunate step taken by Oyetola against the members of the party whose desire was to have a reformed and better APC.

According to him, “The malicious allegations made by Governor Oyetola’s people against the APC leaders had caused damage to their good reputation. Their antecedents and dint of hard work and personally they have built over the years have been compromised”, he noted.

Wondering why the Governor and his group gave room for desperation to the extent of alleging that the caucus leadership committed such offences, the pioneer APC chairman in the State observed that since God is not always on the side of treacherous individuals, Karma will always catch up with deceitful characters.

He noted that it will take a lot of efforts on the part of the leadership and members of the party for cohesion to dwell in the party because of the level of impunity he alleged had been perpetrated by the Governor’s group.

He claimed they were known for planning, sponsoring and executing actions that will lead to problems in the State Chapter of the party.
