A monarch in Oyo State, the Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom Oba Sunday Oladapo, has urged residents of the state to disregard news of his removal.

The monarch made this disclosure in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday.

Ijeru is under Ogbomoso geopolitical zone in Oyo State.

DAILY POST reports that the social media had been agog with news of the purported removal of the king a few days ago.

The monarch has, however, advised indigenes of the town and other residents of the state to disregard such news.

The monarch in his reaction described the segment of the judgement being circulated by some media organizations as a misinterpretation.

He maintained that such news was aimed at confusing the public.

The monarch then urged his subjects and the general public to remain calm.

He reassured that the Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom is not impacted in any manner by the story being orchestrated in the media.

“The judgement of Honourable Justice K. A Adedokun upon which the publications were made is premised on the judgement of Honourable Justice T.A.A Ayorinde of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso in suit no HOG/12/86 between Chief Adeleke Lawal and Oba Yesufu Abidoye Mobolade and 2 others.

“Oba Yesufu Abidoye Mobolade being dissatisfied with the judgement of Honourable Justice T.A.A Ayorinde approached the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan in Appeal no CA/IB/96/88 wherein the Court of Appeal in its ruling on 13th day of December 1999….. held that the case is a personal action and it does not survive the death of both parties”.
