EPL shocker as Newcastle suffer heavy Shelvey blow

Newcastle United have lost Jonjo Shelvey for the first-half of the season.

The Daily Mail reported that Shelvey will be missing for Newcastle until after Christmas.

The midfielder continues to recover from an injury received in May.

The 30-year-old has undergone hamstring surgery and is expected to miss around 12 weeks and not play until early November.

Shelvey made 26 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.
