READ: Matthew 7:7-11

  1. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
  2. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  3. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
  4. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  5. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 13:24-52 , Acts 14

MESSAGE:

A very long time ago, there was a wealthy but stingy man. Whenever his relatives asked him for money, he would tell them to go and work for theirs as he worked hard for his. His relatives later found out that he had a soft spot for children. Thus, whenever they wanted anything from him, they would teach their children to direct their requests to him and he would grant them. One day, a relative visited with her child whom she had coached, but when the rich man asked the child what she wanted, she said cookies. The man knew the child was not asking as taught, so he pretended not to hear and went into his bedroom to give the mother a chance to teach the child again, which she did. However, when the man came out and asked the child for the second time what she wanted, she repeated cookies, in spite of her mother’s coaching. That day, the child and her mother went back home with cookies.

Don’t be like that child; your Heavenly Father has so much, don’t settle for little. Ask Him for straight As, don’t settle for some Bs. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think of.

KEY POINT:

Dream big and ask God to help you fulfil those big dreams.

HYMN: Pass Me Not A Gentle Saviour

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
    Hear my humble cry,
    While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour, Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me at Thy throne of mercy
    Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contrition,
    Help my unbelief.
  2. Trusting only in Thy merit,
    Would I seek Thy face;
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
    Save me by Thy grace.
  3. Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
    More than life to me,
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
    Whom in heaven but Thee?
