Clarion Chukwura was born on the 24th of July, 1964 in Lagos State, Nigeria as the only daughter in a family of four. She spent her early age in Lagos, but moved to Aba at the age of 11.
Three years after moving to Aba, she moved to Onitsha before moving relocating again to Ibadan where she lived until her 19th birthday.
Clarion had her early nursery and primary education in Lagos, before moving to Onitsha for her secondary education at Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha.
After obtaining her SSCE, she proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, from where she got a degree in Acting and Speech at the Department.
Clarion Chukwura began her acting career in 1980 and has been featured in a good number of movies. She came into limelight after featuring in a soap opera titled, ‘mirror in the Sun‘.
Clarion was the first Nigerian to win the Best Actress category at the 1982 FESPACO film festival in Burkina Faso. She has also been recognised as a United Nations Peace Ambassador for her charity work across Africa.
