Bishop Bamidele Calls For Celebration Of Pentecost Day Among Christians In Osun, Prays For Nigeria’s Progress

The convener of the Osun Christians Pentecost Day, Bishop Mike Bamidele, has called for continuous celebration of Pentecost among Christian faithful, WIKIRISE reports. Bishop Bamidele made the call while speaking at the annual celebration of Pentecost Day held at Technical College, Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Monday.

The cleric noted that the significance of the Day was to celebrate the appearance of the Holy Ghost as Christians in unison.

“The Pentecost Day celebration was originated from Osun State and it will go round the world.

“We should celebrate Pentecost together. This is a call for unity; this is a call for oneness. The work of God in Osun requires such in this time.

“The benefits of celebrating Pentecost Day are enormous hence Pentecost day should be celebrated once a year as Christians and lover of Christ,” Bishop Bamidele said.

In his sermon, Bishop Dola Adeboye of the Gloryland international Christian Centre, who spoke on the significance of Pentecost Day, said, “What’s happening here in Osun State should be an eye opener to everyone in the body of Christ and this should go over all the nation and not just Osun State. I’m just expecting the day where every state will copy what’s going on here.

“The whole Osun State are gathered together to ask God for the fire of Pentecost to come down on the nation. We need divine intervention concerning what’s going on in the country.

“The present situation of the country is beyond what government can handle in terms of security. We need Holy Ghost’s fire and the anointing of God to go all over the state of the nation.

Nigeria is fast going down, we need the power of God to lift it up back. This is not the type of Nigeria we hoped for, but we still believe in one Nigeria and we’re praying for God to restore it,” the cleric stated.

Other clerics, who spoke at the event, include Bishop Dr Adesola Olubadejo and Bishop Dennis Abidakun of the Presiding Bishop of Testimony Life Ministries International.
