Rivers and Anambra states’ governments have commended the Jay Jay Okocha Foundation and Betking for donating foodstuff and other essential materials to isolation centres across the country as their contribution to the fight against COVID-19.
Secretary to Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo said the equipment, Hygiene products and food items donated to the state would aid the state in its efforts to halt the spread of COVID-19.
He also called on other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the Okocha Foundation. Okocha, a former Super Eagles captain, who is also the brand ambassador for Betking, has been helping in the fight against COVID-19 with his foundation.
Eulogising the foundation, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solomon Chukwulobelu, expressed gratitude for the items donated to the state, noting that the contribution would go a long way in ensuring health workers are safe when carrying out their services.
Also applauding the Okocha Foundation and Betking, football coaches, led by former Enyimba and Plateau United Coach, Zachary Baraje said the partnership’s strategic response in combating COVID-19 is immeasurable.
“The essence of the palliatives is to help citizens and also ensure the safety of the frontline workers as they assiduously serve the communities,” Baraje said.
