Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is worried Daniel James will get a reputation as a diver after he picked up bookings for simulation in successive games.
James, who was booked in the draw against Wolves for going down too easily, was also shown a yellow card in Manchester United’s defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Referee Paul Tierney cautioned the 21-year-old for diving after he was caught by James McArthur, with replays suggesting the decision was harsh on James.
“I’m 100 per cent sure of contact between Daniel James and their defender and now he’s on two yellow cards where there’s been contact with him,” said Solskjaer.
“It’s very unfair, very unlucky. Both yellow cards shouldn’t have stood.”
Asked if he was worried James could pick up a reputation for going down too easily, Solskjaer added: “That’s why I’ve mentioned it. He is not that type, he’s such an honest boy. He gets sraight up and keeps running.”
